According to OSHA, the United States experiences fewer fatalities in the workplace today. However, the leading cause of worker fatalities year after year contiues to be related to motor vehicle crashes; distracted driving dramatically increases the risk of such crashes. OSHA has recently announced their initiative to address distracted driving. OSHA is indicating that they will initially focus on texting. It has not been clearly established what may or may not follow that initial focus. OSHA is partnering with the Department of Transportation to address the distracted driving problem.
