U.S. Chemical Safety Board Releases New Hot Work Safety Video

 

On June 7, 2010 the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) released a new 14 minute safety video warning of the hazards associated with welding and other hot work activities when performed in and near storage tanks containing flammable materials.

The video uses 3-D images to reconstruct actual accidents and shows why a hot work permit system is important.  It also emphasizes the importance of gas detectors and how gas detectors should be properly used.

The video is a great training tool and can be viewed on-line, downloaded or you may request a free DVD of the video directly from the CSB.
